The atlas is PainMap's place-first entry point. It keeps the map, search box, ranking tables, and dataset pages aligned so every visible value has a source, vintage, evidence kind, uncertainty label, and release id.

Use the homepage search field to select a country or loaded ADM1 region. It is the complete keyboard and screen-reader path for the map.

Human burden indicators

World Bank country indicators for poverty, mortality, pollution, WASH, conflict, and related burden proxies.

Country and world counts from OWID/Fishcount-style public data, weighted only with visible welfare assumptions.
